Ice Storm
We have been trapped inside since last weekend after a winter storm dumped a few inches of snow and then a layer of ice on Camas and the surrounding area. Everyone is a bit stir crazy, especially Sheru. Warmer weather and rain is forecast for the next few days so we should be able to escape soon.
I’m reading Patrick O’Brian’s Treason’s Harbour, the ninth installment of the Aubrey-Maturin series. As always, it is delightful. Neil has recommended the Horatio Hornblower series for future consideration.
I’ve been enjoying The Morning Show, a TV series staring and produced by Reece Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. There is a lot of corporate intrigue but this time with strong female leads.
I have given up my subscription to Idagio, a high-quality classical streaming service because Anne has subscribed to Apple One Premium, which includes Apple Music and Apple Classical. I don’t like Apple Classical as much, but I can’t justify paying for both. There is a silver lining, however. Apple Classical has a series on the history of classical music that I have been wanting to stream.
Speaking of classical music, the Seattle Symphony had a sale this past week so I bought tickets to a Dvořák concert for April. I also got tickets for a performance of the Pacific Northwest Ballet: The Seasons’ Canon, which is set to Max Richter’s interpretation of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
